The HRCR Clubmans Rally Championship |
The
2006 Championship is now completed. Congratulations to Paul Hernaman and Ray Crowther in the Porsche 911
who have become the new
champions. Championship
results with a full points breakdown are on the
Latest Points page.
Championship awards will be presented at the HRCR's Prizegiving Dinner
at the Gaydon Motor Heritage Centre on Saturday 3rd February 2007. The 2007 HRCR
Clubmans Rally Championship will open with the Tour of Cheshire on
Saturday 10th March and the
Provisional Calendar for 2007 includes the same nine
rounds as 2006, plus one more to form a 10-round championship. The
new round is a revival of the 'Late Summer Run', with tests and
regularity sections in the Winchester area of Hampshire, running on 8th
September which nicely fills the summer gap in the championship
calendar. The Late Summer Run will be organised by the same team
that has given us the Carpetbagger Rally, currently the most popular
round in our night rally championship.
Newcomers Rally Schools in Yorkshire and Kent If you're a new HRCR member and want to go historic rallying, attending a Newcomers Rally School Day is the best way to start. For 2007 we have two Rally School days planned, in Yorkshire in February and in Kent in April. These days are absolutely ideal for complete beginners to historic road rallying and also suitable for competitors who have done a few rallies and wish to learn more to improve their performance, or find out what they’ve been doing wrong! The instruction is particularly tuned to the type of events that will comprise the HRCR Clubmans Rally Championship. More details are on our Newcomers Rally School page. Navigator Agency Are you a Driver or Navigator looking for a partner for HRCR championship rallies? You may be able to find someone through our Navigator Agency page.
Every rally in the series has a different organiser and is run in a different area, so there's plenty of variety as each presents a different challenge to you and your car. All events run at weekends, most just on a single day, so for the majority of us, there's no need to use up valuable holidays. Have a look through the championship calendar and see which of the rallies you might like to enter. You don't need to enter every round to pick up a super championship award at the end of the year.
