Twigg/Fowle were 2007 winners after a 3-way tie

With three crews level on 9m 38s at the top of the scoreboard at the end of the day, the furthest cleanest tie-decider had to come into effect to decide the podium places of the 2007 Hughes Rally. Geoff Twigg/Matt Fowle (Mini Cooper S) were fastest of the three on the rally’s opening special test at the Weald Granary and so gained the win, while Martin Neal/Mick Briggs (A-H Sprite) took second. Last year's Best Novice winners Mike and Lorna Harrison (Triumph TR3A) had to settle for third place after an exceptional performance on the regularity sections.

Kevin Haselden/Dave Kirkham (Mini Cooper) were leading the rally before the final regularity section over private roads in Mereworth Woods. However a bad decision to run early, hoping to counter expected time loss at passage controls, resulted in them collecting over two minutes of early penalties and tumbling down the leaderboard to 13^th overall.

Best novice crew Glen Pearson/Nigel Blackburn (Porsche 911) did remarkably well to finish in 5^th overall, while class wins went to Mike & Lorna Harrison (Triumph TR3A), Jim Deacon/Dave Wilson (Escort RS2000), Nick Cooper/Josie Greenaway (Mini Cooper), Wesley Coleman/Neil Guyett (Mini 1275GT) and Graham Mayes/Keith Howard (MG Midget).

Of the 49 entries received, all 49 started and finished that rally. Here are the top 10 finishers:
